June Memories

One of our favorite things in June is to go to Taylorsville Dayzz. We  got some delicious fruit kabobs.

On super busy days, Jazzy would go help mom at Fairy Fest. She even asked to get her face painted sometimes! She makes a very pretty tiger.

Zildy got to take a fun girls trip to Nashville TN with her friend Brynne. She was in the process of retiring from Jetblue because of the pandemic, and had been promising Brynne she would take her to see her sister Marti on a buddy pass. It was so much fun and we got to stay at a beautiful lake house with huge windows to let the sunlight in every morning.

Fathers Day celebrations at cousins! So grateful for these dads!

Track was still in full swing and both Tayevion and Zuri were doing great! It was super hot, and they were getting very dark!

The progress on the Taylorsville temple was coming along nicely and it was so fun to drive by it almost every day.

Word on the street was spreading that the Boston Fajardos might be moving to Utah! We were so excited, but knew that we had to take one more trip to see them out there and swim in their amazing pool. It was so much fun, and we basically relaxed and swam the whole time. Derick did take Zildy to Lexington and Concord and by doing so made her dreams come true. It had been something she had asked to do for a very long time. The other fantastic thing that happened was that Ellie taught Zuri to swim! Ellie was a very strong swimmer and had taught over kids before. She was great with Zuri and basically taught her in one day and after that Zuri had so much confidence in the water!! So grateful!

Shayden turns 20!

Shayden and Cee Ryle decided that they wanted their Sunday dinner celebration to be at a park this year. We also had him over for breakfast and we had a picnic as a family with his favorite food-pizza. He thought he was too old for presents but you are never too old for presents!!

End of School Year

It was the end of the 2020-2021 school year and what a different school year it had been! Things were going a little more back to normal. Jasmine decided that for her Senior year, she would go to Murray High School. They had a big ceremony at the high school to showcase the new dancers on Dance Company. She would be going to school with her friend Sophia again.

Taye being a narwal at Ascent Academy. Taye had a wonderful 6th grade year, despite the Covid situation. He really thrives better in a school setting. He showed great leadership skills and was involved in several programs including the Basketball team and Junior Coach where he worked with kids in the younger grades and was a good role model.

Normally at the end of the day he would walk across the street to the neighborhood with some friends and that's where we would pick him up. Mom took a picture of him on his last day.

Mom volunteered at Zuri's field day at Vista Elementary. It had been a little bit of a rough year for her at Vista, and she wasn't sure if she wanted to continue with the Spanish Immersion program. She was still best friends with Jasiel and they would spend as much time together as possible. Zuri had a teacher at Vista that loved her so much and was so kind to her. Her name was Ms. Magnin. Zuri loved her too, and Ms. Magnin was one of those teachers that made her day brighter.
